The Coastal Zone Management Authority and Institute (CZMAI) is the leady agency for the MSP Process, Belize Sustainable Ocean Plan (BSOP), under the Ministry of Blue Economy and Disaster Risk Management, with funding support from the Belize Fund for a Sustainable Future (BFSF).
Meet The MSP Unit
Samir Rosado
MSP Process LeadMr. Rosado is responsible for leading the development of the Belize Sustainable Ocean Plan and ensuring its timely delivery. This includes working along with all relevant stakeholder groups to design and manage the MSP process, according to the developed governance framework, and produce outputs and products that ensures that the process is inclusive, equitable, participatory, transparent, and science based.
Janel McNab
MSP CoordinatorMs. McNab is responsible to provide overall and day to day logistical and coordination support for the development of Belize Sustainable Ocean Plan, including all activities related to engagement, awareness building, and education.
The MSP Science Lead is responsible for working with government and relevant stakeholder groups to identify and incorporate the best available data, science, and technology into the MSP Process to ensure that the resulting Belize Sustainable Ocean Plan is scientifically and technically sound.
Delwin Guevara
GIS Mapping & Data AnalystMr. Guevara is responsible for leading all spatial mapping and analysis for the development of the Belize Sustainable Ocean Plan. This includes capturing multi-sector and multi-stakeholder input throughout the decision-making process and utilizing GIS and marine spatial planning tools to inform the MSP process.
Shari Banner Gentle
Communications & Public Relations OfficerMrs. Banner-Gentle is responsible for providing overall and day-to-day communications and media support for the development of the Belize Sustainable Ocean Plan. This includes formulating and implementing communications and media strategies to increase the understanding and awareness of the MSP process and outputs with the media and the public.
